This document articulates the rights, obligations, and anticipated conduct of all parties involved, commonly encompassing a business or service provider and its clientele or users.

CHAPTER 1 : GENERAL PROVISIONS
- AMZ Car Rental Sdn Bhd (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) shall lease a vehicle (hereinafter referred to as “Rental Car”) to the Renter, and the Renter shall rent the Rental Car from the Company, all in accordance with the provisions in this Agreement. Matters not provided for in this Agreement shall be governed by relevant laws and regulations, and common practice.
- AMZ Car Rental Sdn Bhd (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) shall lease a vehicle (hereinafter referred to as “Rental Car”) to the Renter, and the Renter shall rent the Rental Car from the Company, all in accordance with the provisions in this Agreement. Matters not provided for in this Agreement shall be governed by relevant laws and regulations, and common practice.
CHAPTER 2 : RENTAL AND GUARANTOR
- In the event of a breach of the terms and conditions by the RENTER or GUARANTOR (emergency contact/person in charge), both parties will be subject to blacklisting (CTOS), and a management fee will be imposed to compensate for any losses incurred to AMZ Car Rental’s vehicles.
CHAPTER 3 : STANDARD RENTAL QUALIFICATION
- AMZ Car Rental reserves the right to refuse any rental, at its discretion, or if the Hirer fails to meet the standard terms and conditions of rental before or during the rental period. If illegal activities are carried out by the renter or if they have a previous criminal history, AMZ Car Rental reserves the right to repossess the vehicle without the renter’s consent and terminate the rental agreement, with the right to charge penalties or losses.
- If the hirer is a person in charge or representative of a company, both the hirer and the company will be liable for any losses or profits incurred during the rental period with AMZ Car Rental.
CHAPTER 4 : REQUIREMENT FOR A VALID DRIVING LICENSE
- The borrower must be between the ages of 21 and 65 years old.
- The borrower must possess a valid local driving license or an international driving permit with a qualified driving experience of at least one year. Probationary license holders will not be accepted.For Malaysians:
- Photocopy of driver’s NRIC
- Photocopy of driving license
- Photocopy of NRIC/Passport of guarantor
- Utility bill and Business card (if any)
- Driver’s passport
- International driving license or permit
- Foreign driving license with a letter validation from the embassy
- Passport of guarantor
- Utility bill, student card, and Business card (if any)
- Flight or bus tickets of inbound and outbound of Malaysia
- Proof of residence in Malaysia (Hotel tickets/Acommodation booking confirmations)
CHAPTER 5 : RATES
- Rates specified are for a minimum rental period of 24 hours. Additional hours will be calculated per hour up to a maximum of 5 hours only. After 5 hours, the rates will be calculated as a 1-day rental.
- Rates include: 5000 kilometers per month for service and maintenance.
- Rates exclude:
- Damage caused by negligence, such as punctures and burst tires, fuel errors, lack of battery charge due to forgetting to turn off electrical appliances, loss or damage to vehicle accessories.
- Refundable security deposit, petrol, toll fees (Smart Tag and Touch ‘n Go), Damage waiver (CDW), additional driver, Travel Insurance, parking charges, Accident Car Replacement Insurance, Windscreen Protection Insurance, traffic fines, airport charges, fuel & other optional charges.
- Summon or fines imposed.
CHAPTER 6: RESERVATION CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
- Normal Operation Season:
- a) If canceled or changed:
- 100% of total payment if cancelled 12 hours before the scheduled rental date or for no-shows.
- You will receive a complete reimbursement of your reservation payment should you decide to cancel or make alterations up to 8 days before your scheduled rental date.
- 50% of total payment is charged if canceled 2 to 7 days prior.

- Peak Season and Festive (Public Holidays in Malaysia):

- 100% of total payment if cancelled 12 hours before the scheduled rental date or for no-shows.
- You will receive a complete reimbursement of your reservation payment should you decide to cancel or make alterations up to 1month before your scheduled rental date.
- 100% of total payment is charged if cancelled 7 days prior.
- 50% of total payment is charged if cancelled 8-30 days prior.
- a) If canceled or changed:
- Overseas/Remittance Payment:
- A management charge of 8% from total reservation amount is charged for each transaction fee.
- Refunds are processed via PayPal or remittance transfer to bank account.
- A one-time cancellation fee of 5% is charged from the full amount paid for any cancellation of booking.
- Important Notes:
- Renter is responsible for any payment transaction fee incurred for refunds.
- Refunds are processed within 7-21 working days.
- AMZ Car Rental may pre-authorize your card or charge a deposit or full price upfront for bookings.
CHAPTER 7 : HANDLING OF ITEMS LEFT BEHIND
- The Renter is responsible for ensuring that no items are left behind in the Rental Car upon its return.
- The Company is not obliged to inspect the Rental Car for any items left behind. The Renter assumes liability for any damages incurred by themselves, passengers, or third parties due to items left behind.
- In the event of items left behind in the Rental Car, the Company shall handle them as follows. Items without intrinsic value or those deemed perishable, hazardous, or impractical to store long-term may be immediately disposed of. Items left behind, which include but are not limited to driver’s licenses, passports, credit cards, currency, valuable documents, electronic toll collection cards, and personal electronics, shall be surrendered to the local police station. If unclaimed, they will be stored for three (3) months, after which disposal procedures will be initiated. Items such as firearms, weapons, narcotics, or other illegal possessions will be promptly handed over to the authorities. Miscellaneous items not falling under the aforementioned categories will be stored for one (1) month, after which unclaimed items will be disposed of.
- Upon retrieval of items left behind, the Company will return them to the Renter at a location designated by the Company.
CHAPTER 8 : CHAPTER 8 : IN CASE OF ACCIDENTS OR EMERGENCY
- In the event of an emergency, accident, or any damages, contact our main office immediately. Our team will offer swift assistance and expert guidance to resolve the situation efficiently. Avoid unofficial reports to police or third parties. Our approved workshop and roadside assistance will be dispatched promptly. Unauthorized charges will be the renter’s responsibility. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities, and we’re committed to ensuring a seamless resolution to any unforeseen circumstances. Please rely on our designated channels for assistance to uphold the quality and integrity of our service.

CHAPTER 9 : FINE AND SUMMON (AES)
- Effective January 1st, 2020, AMZ Car Rental implements the following penalty structure for AES summons issued by JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan): RM300 for summons and RM200 for management charges if the hirer is found guilty. AMZ Car Rental retains the right to claim compensation or losses due to AES summons.
- AES summon refers to citations issued by Malaysia’s Automated Enforcement System for traffic violations like speeding or running red lights. It includes details of the offense and fines. Failure to pay may lead to legal consequences.
CHAPTER 10 : TYRE PUNCTURE BURST, FLAT OR DAMAGED DURING RENTAL
- Customer Responsibility: Customers are responsible for any tire damage occurring during the rental period, including punctures or bursts, regardless of whether it was due to their actions or unforeseen circumstances.
- Immediate Reporting: Customers must report any tire issues immediately to the rental agency. This includes punctures, bursts, or any other damage affecting tire integrity.
- Assessment and Assistance: Upon reporting, the rental agency will assess the situation and provide appropriate assistance. This may include roadside assistance, guidance on using repair kits, or connecting customers with local tire repair services.
- Repair or Replacement: If the tire can be safely repaired, customers may opt for this solution. However, if a replacement is necessary, it must adhere to the rental agency’s terms and conditions.
- Quality Standards: Replacement tires must match the make and specification of the original tires on the vehicle. Using budget or mismatched tires may result in additional charges or penalties.
- Documentation: Customers should retain all receipts and invoices related to tire repairs or replacements. These documents may be required by the rental agency for verification purposes.
- Costs and Charges: Customers will be charged for the cost of tire repair or replacement, as well as any associated administrative fees. The rental agreement should specify these charges to avoid misunderstandings.
- Safety First: If customers are unsure about using repair kits or changing tires, they should contact the rental agency for assistance. Safety should always be the top priority.
- SUMMARY : The customer bears responsibility for ensuring proper repair or replacement of damaged tires during the rental period. If the repair or replacement is not conducted adequately and supported by related invoices, the company will charge an administration fee of RM100 in addition to any necessary expenses.
CHAPTER 11 : MILEAGE LIMIT
- Our rentals come with a standard mileage cap of 300 kilometers per day. For example, a 3-day rental period allows for a total of 900 kilometers.
- For an extra RM30 per day, this cap can be extended to 450 kilometers per day (1350 kilometers for 3 days).
- Additional mileage beyond the limit will be charged at RM0.35 per kilometer, unless otherwise noted in the invoice.
CHAPTER 12 : INSURANCE AND EXCESS PROTECTION
- All rentals come with a non-waivable excess, which is the amount you are responsible for if the rental car is damaged or stolen. This non-waivable excess applies regardless of the circumstances.
- Each rental includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection (TP), both of which include a mandatory excess amount. This means that in the event of damage or theft, you will be liable to pay up to this predetermined amount.
- The standard excess amount is RM3000, unless otherwise stated in the invoice, depending on the car model.
- To provide you with greater peace of mind, we offer an additional option to reduce the mandatory excess amount. By opting for this extra protection, you can lower the amount you would need to pay if any damage occurs or if the vehicle is stolen.
- The specific excess amounts and the fees for reducing these amounts vary depending on the car model you choose. Detailed information regarding the excess amounts and reduction fees for each car model will be provided at the time of booking.
CHAPTER 12 : FUEL POLICY
- Return with the same level: Customers are required to return the vehicle with the same fuel level as when they picked it up. Any less fuel will be charged as follows:
- RM35 per bar for Economy/Compact cars
- RM50 per bar for MPVs and Premium cars
- Full Tank Option: Customers can opt to pre-purchase a full tank of fuel at the following rates:
- Economy/Compact cars: RM100
- MPVs: RM125
- Premium cars: RM300
- If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than at the time of pickup and the Full Tank Option was not selected, the customer will be charged according to the excess rates mentioned above.
- Fuel Levels: It is the customer’s responsibility to note the fuel level at the time of vehicle pick-up and return it at the same level to avoid additional charges.
CHAPTER 13 : NATURAL DISASTER, FLOODS, TREES
- Coverage Exclusions: Damage resulting from floods, falling trees, and natural disasters is not covered by any insurance or excess protection plans provided by AMZ Car Rental.
- Full Excess Payment: In the event of damage due to the above-mentioned causes, the customer will be responsible for paying the full excess amount, based on the type of vehicle rented:
- Customer Responsibility: It is the customer’s responsibility to avoid situations that could result in such damages. This includes, but is not limited to, avoiding driving through flooded areas, parking under trees during storms, and staying informed about weather conditions.
- Damage Assessment: All damages will be assessed upon the return of the vehicle. The customer will be liable for the full excess payment if the damage is determined to be caused by floods, trees, or natural disasters.
- Payment Terms: The excess payment must be settled in full before the vehicle is returned to the customer.
- Amount of excess:
- Economy Cars: RM3000
- MPVs: RM4000
- Premium Vehicles (including but not limited to Starex, Alphard, or similar vehicles): RM5000
CHAPTER 14 : GENTING AND ONE DAY RENTAL LIMITS
- Self-Drive Rentals for One-Day Rental Restrictions: One-day self-drive rentals are only allowed within Kuala Lumpur (KL). For trips to Genting Highlands or Colmar Bukit Tinggi or outside KL, a minimum rental of two days is required.
- Rental with Driver: 2. Genting Highlands Tours: Standard tours include drop-off and pick-up at the cable car station. Custom drop-off/pick-up locations are available for an additional fee of MYR 150-250, depending on the vehicle.
